Who doesn’t love a good spy movie, let alone a British spy classic, based on Frederick Forsyth novel. I love all things spy related from movies, series, documentaries, I am truly a lover of all things spy, I dubbed myself as some-type of spy “guru” because I’ve seen so many.

The Jackal is played by Eddie Redmayne, who is an exceptional charismatic actor follow by Bianca MI6 detective played by Lashana Lynch. The series is based on an elite international highly effective British assassin that is hired by various people or organization to take out whomever they perceive as a threat. Eddie Redmayne role of The Jackal was simply brilliant, his character was cold, calculated, callous ruthless assassin however, his home life as a family man was even more complicated & mysterious at times.

Regrettably, I didn’t feel the same way for the MI6 agent, played by Lashana Lynch. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a phenomenal actress as well but, her role as Bianca was all over the place. Her family life was failing all round her, does not work well with others/colleagues, miscalculated her abilities and quiet frankly, irritating at times. Nonetheless, still good acting.

The series has 10 episodes and, all 10 will keep you on the edge of your seat. A masterful unpredictable body of work, executed, incredible writing, editing, production, sceneries, character role development, outstanding performance from start to finish. I highly recommend this series and, I am even more thrilled that a second season has been confirmed.
