This series is based on a woman called Anna Ularu, who works in IT, dating a cop that happens to be working with an undercover ex-cop that has information that can bring down the notorious criminal empire of Bucharest criminal underground. During the arrange meeting, her fiancée is killed while speaking to her on video conference, where she witnesses the shooter, hence the story begins… and, yes, you can fill in the expectable outcome because it’s not that interesting.
There are 6 episodes in this series, each one under deliver, poorly executed-weak story line. From my understanding, this is the first Netflix original series from Romania & quite frankly, it didn’t deliver.
The story was derivative, same tedious narrative of drug infused corruption where one controls it all and, the very few outstanding citizens fighting against the evil corruption that’s ruining the city (Bucharest). The writing is brittle, lacks delivery/execution, episodes were uneven, no balance or character development, the visuals/cinematography lacks true substance, failure to connect with the audience.
I don’t see any future potential that this series would get better even if a second season is confirmed. There’s no emotive depth or any solid foundation that can be build upon for season 2, I would not recommend.
