American crime Thriller series, streaming on Prime

Cross is an American crime thriller series (8 episodes) that was released on Prime video on November 14, 2024, and is based on James Patterson Alex Cross novels about a complex detective named Alex Cross. The adaptation series stars Aldis Hodge who plays Cross, Isaiah Mustafa, played his partner and best friend, detective John Sampson. James Patterson first novel was published in 1993, there are a total of 31 novels in the series.

As you all may recall, there have been three different movie versions of Alex cross. The first movie featured Morgan Freeman as Cross in Kiss the Girls, released in 1997, follow by the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and, lastly Tyler Perry, 2012 movie, Alex Cross. Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross.

The series follows a forensic psychologist and homicide D.C. Metro detective name Alex Cross alongside his partner, where they pursue and tried solving the case for some of the world’s most dangerous criminals, all while struggling with the grief for over a year after the murder of his wife (Chauntee).

James Patterson’s Alex Cross is all based on new mysteries, and Season 1, Hero Complex adaptation provides a captivating series while blending style, sophistication, and intellect characters that can execute a flawless narrative. Additionally, each character’s roles are engaging, powerful and complex, including the supporting cast, creating genuine and genuine friendship dynamics.

Additionally, this series is by far one of the most engaging, suspenseful, intriguing, enjoyable series by James Patterson. I am particularly fond of the image portrayal of the black family that was done with such grace, elegance, and thoughtfulness outside of the typical depictions was breath-taking. In contrast, we see the same grace with Alex Cross character, his style of this very smooth, intelligent, calculated, plain-dressed detective, making Hodge an ideal casting choice for Alex Cross.

The only drawback I have is that some of the cinematography lighting scenes were dark and grey, making it difficult to observe certain characters accurately. Nevertheless, this is a fantastic series with solid writing & brilliant, the best series adaptation of Alex Cross and, I am looking forward to Season 2, called” Bitter fruit,” already filmed and hopefully, is released some time late fall or early winter, fingers cross.
