MobLand is a 2025 British crime drama television series created and written by Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth. The 10-episode series stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. A standalone spinoff of Showtime’s Ray Donovan, MobLand features Guy Ritchie as an executive producer; he also directed the first two episodes. The series premiered on Paramount+ on March 30, 2025.
The series is about a London crime family, the Harrigans who find themselves in a battle with another London crime family, the Stevensons. Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy), a repairman employed by the Harrigan family to combat the escalating conflict, as well as safeguarding the Harrigan’s interests and preventing an all-out gang war.
This is a great series with an outstanding cast that showcases Tom Hardy’s versatile acting abilities, undoubtedly making him the star of the show. Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) is the family patriarch who appears to be in control, but it’s actually his wife, Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren), who runs the operation, manipulating everyone, including her psychopathic grandson. The supporting cast adds further depth, each bringing their own unique stories that complement the gritty, cutthroat, and creative nature of the series.
On the surface, the show’s concept may feel familiar, reminiscent of series like Ozark and The Wire. However, like its predecessors, MobLand keeps you guessing, just when you think you’ve figured it out, a surprising twist or unexpected moment throws everything into question, adding a thrilling layer to every episode.
With great production values, excellent cinematography, strong writing, and a top-tier cast, each episode is captivating and binge-worthy. I highly recommend diving into this series. MobLand
