Today we lost a man who spoke his truth. Charlie Kirk, a controversial figure, was gunned down at a college debate in Utah. While he wasn’t a Black man, his death points to a reality we know all too well. In America, when men speak out when they dare to challenge the system their voices are often silenced, either by violence or by the slow assassination of their character.

As Black men, this hits even deeper. We carry the weight of being judged, dismissed, and targeted simply for existing in our truth. Kirk’s tragedy is not ours, but it mirrors the challenges we face every day. His death is a reminder of how dangerous it can be to stand firm in what you believe, and for Black men in America, that danger has always been multiplied.

This conversation isn’t about politics. It’s about survival. It’s about being a man in a world that punishes you for being unapologetically yourself something Black men have endured for generations.
