Matthew McConaughey delivers an intense, grounded performance, while America Ferrera brings a calm, warm strength amid the chaos. The tension remains high from start to finish, keeping you on the edge of your seat with genuine suspense and unexpected waves of emotion. The child actors contribute raw, authentic performances, conveying real fear and vulnerability.
The visuals of the fire feel strikingly real, as if you’re right there on the bus with the children. Cinematographer Pål Ulvik Rokseth and the visual effects team did a remarkable job, the smoke and heat are so visceral that you can almost feel them as you watch. That said, there are a few minor issues, such as shaky camera work in some scenes, which can feel uneven and disorienting, making certain moments harder to follow.
Despite its minor flaws, the film stands as a powerful survival drama, vividly showcasing human courage and resilience during moments of crisis.
