Furies is a French action-drama television series produced for Netflix. The first season, consisting of eight episodes, premiered on March 1, 2024, followed by a six-episode second season released on March 18, 2026. Each episode has an approximate runtime of 45 minutes.

The series follows two women, primarily the younger, Lyna, who discovers that her parents were involved in a powerful criminal network. After her father is brutally murdered, she is imprisoned for refusing to cooperate with the police. Upon her release, Lyna embarks on a quest for revenge, determined to find those responsible. Her search leads her to Selma, also known as “the Fury”—a formidable figure who seeks to train Lyna as her successor. As the Fury, Selma is tasked with maintaining a fragile balance among Paris’s six major crime families.

Furies has a fairly simple concept and a straightforward storyline, but that actually works in its favor. The action scenes are strong, and the dynamic between the two female leads, particularly the almost mother-daughter relationship between Lyna and Selma, feels natural and fitting for the story.

That said, the series isn’t without its flaws. There are several noticeable plot holes, and some of the performances come across as amateurish. The introduction of a second boyfriend halfway through the show also feels unnecessary, adding little to the story and dragging the pacing with what seems like an extra, unneeded episode.

Nevertheless, if you approach Furies the same way you would like a fast-paced action film like Die Hard or a typical Jason Statham movie, focused more on action than depth, you’ll likely enjoy it for what it is. The series remains engaging, with minimal dull dialogue, well-executed scenes, and a consistent pace across both seasons.

Overall, it’s an entertaining watch as long as you overlook the plot holes and simply enjoy the ride without overthinking it.
