Neagley is an American action-crime television series created by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton for Amazon Prime Video. The series is a spin-off of Reacher and is based on the character created by Lee Child. Maria Sten reprises her role as Frances Neagley, and the series premiered on September 16, 2026, with eight episodes running about 45 minutes each.

The series follows Neagley, now working as a private investigator in Chicago. When a childhood friend dies under suspicious circumstances, Neagley starts digging into what really happened and eventually finds herself at Echo Canyon Farm, a cult-like community suspected of being involved in an illegal pharmaceutical operation. From there, she sets out to uncover the truth and expose the threat.

First, Maria Sten carries this show extremely well. She has the physical presence, attitude, and intensity that made her character stand out in Reacher, and she brings all of that into her own series.

What I really liked is that Neagley isn’t simply the female version of Reacher. She’s her own character. She has her own personality, vulnerabilities, emotions, and her own way of approaching problems. We get to see more layers of her character, and I thought that made her much more interesting as the central character.

This was a good series, and I’m already looking forward to a second season. It had all the right ingredients, action, hand-to-hand combat, conspiracies, childhood secrets, and plenty of mystery. We also learn more about Neagley’s past and begin to understand why she is such a serious and guarded person, rather than someone who easily shows humor and warmth.

I also thought the supporting cast worked well together. Nothing felt forced, and they brought some of the humor and warmth that balanced Neagley’s more serious personality.

Couple of Critics Verdict: Neagley is a solid action-driven series with an interesting lead character and enough mystery and action to keep you invested. If you’re a Reacher fan, you’ll find something to enjoy here.

And honestly, I’m glad they didn’t try to make Neagley into another Reacher. She’s Neagley and she works perfectly fine on her own.
